A brow lift is a procedure that benefits patients who desire higher arched eyebrows in Jupiter, West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach County, Florida. It is performed by Dr. Vartan Mardirossian at the Mardirossian Facial Aesthetics fully licensed surgical suite in Jupiter, FL.
What is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift procedure lifts the brows into a more aesthetically pleasing position. Of course, everyone has their own perception of what attractive is; however, there are some common criteria that apply to the brows for both men and women.
While in men brows are more horizontal and sit more or less at the bony orbital rims, in women, the ideal eyebrow generally sits higher, with its lateral portion slightly arched to rise about 1 cm above the lateral orbital rim. The descent of the brows is generally related to age and is due to both the lengthening of the forehead skin with loss of collagen, as well as the gradual loss of the fat pad that is situated immediately under the eyebrow skin and muscle.
How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost?
The average cost of a brow lift procedure ranges from $3,000 for the brow lift to $6,500 for a complete forehead lift. We offer financing services like CareCredit® to help make your treatment more affordable.
Am I a Candidate for a Brow Lift?
If you feel that your brows are sagging and give you a tired and less attractive look, then you are probably a candidate for a brow lift. Patient who have dry eyes and other eye problems should communicate this to our team before the procedure. Dr. Mardirossian will make sure to help you achieve your goals in respect of your eye health.
What is the Difference Between a Brow Lift and a Forehead Lift?
While a brow lift will address the sagging of the brows only or even address specific areas of the brows, a forehead lift is a forehead contouring procedure that has the potential of lifting the entire forehead and eliminating the forehead lines, as well as lifting the temples and even the upper cheeks.
While brow lifts can be performed through smaller incisions at the hairline or in the hair — commonly called a subcutaneous or lateral brow lift — the forehead lift requires a longer incision, which is mostly or completely hidden in the hair.
How is a Brow Lift Performed?
This procedure can be performed either under local anesthesia or under twilight sleep. It can often be performed in combination with other procedures, such as a facelift or a neck lift. A 1-1.5 inch incision is placed right at the upper edge of the brows, either in the hairline or in the hair itself. The brow is accessed through that incision, and is repositioned at a higher, aesthetically pleasing, and natural position. Appropriate tissue dissection, manipulation, and several deep and superficial sutures are used.
If performed correctly, there is minimal bleeding throughout the procedure. The wound is then closed with self-absorbing sutures and surgical clips. Despite being performed through a fine hidden incision, the brow lift involves manipulation of deep tissues near your eye and some important blood vessels and will be performed near the nerves that move your forehead. To avoid unnecessary risks, make sure you trust your face to an expert in the field like Dr. Mardirossian when considering this procedure.
How is a Forehead Lift Performed?
A fine incision is placed in the hairline or in the hair and extended laterally. Through that incision, the forehead is lifted together with the eyebrows and the temples and repositioned in a higher and more pleasing position. This lifts the eyebrows harmoniously with a nice arch, helping the lines of the forehead disappear, and lifting the temple and the upper cheeks. The incision is closed with fine sutures and surgical clips.
What is Recovery Like After Brow Lift/Forehead Lift Procedures?
Swelling generally lasts between one to two weeks. You may be advised to use ice for three to seven days following your procedure to allow for proper wound healing. Before you leave, you will be given instructions on when to follow up and how to properly care for the incision sites. Most of our patients go back to their everyday activities three to four days after the procedure. Strenuous physical activity can be resumed after three weeks.
How Long Will My Brow Lift/Forehead Lift Results Last?
End results of a brow lift or forehead lift are permanent. There are many factors involved in the longevity of a certain procedure. Patients find this procedure appealing because of its positive effect on their vision and a decrease in tiredness that many experience prior to the procedure. A nicely arched brow makes the eyes more noticeable with emphasis on their inner beauty.
