“I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.” This was tweeted by Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner) on June 1, after she was ready to let the world know she really was by revealing her true identity – the news first appeared on the front cover of the Vanity Fair magazine with a headline entitled, “Call me Caitlyn.”

A New Life

Caitlyn Jenner has been in the public eye for many years already – as Bruce Jenner. However, earlier this year, reports began emerging that he was in the process of becoming a woman. According to information contained in the magazine article, which was released on to newsstands earlier this month, the above mentioned tweet was posted on Jenner’s brand new account on the social network at around the same time the article was published in the magazine. Within the first few hours of being online, the account had already garnered the support of more than 1 million followers.

Embracing the Transformation Process

Before making her announcement to the world, Jenner underwent a 10 hour facial feminization operation as well as a breast augmentation procedure to help her through the transformation process. A reliable family source gave Radaronline.com the following statement regarding Caitlyn’s transformation process, “Caitlyn had the gender reassignment surgery after the Vanity Fair project was completed. Caitlyn didn’t want the focus of the story to be focused on the surgery, but instead on the journey of becoming a woman. Caitlyn also had some minor tweaks done cosmetically as well as around the chin and jaw line and has been recovering at her Malibu mansion.”

Overwhelming Support Received

After revealing herself to the world on June 1, Caitlyn received an overwhelming amount of support from across the globe. She has even been nominated to receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 ESPYs – this ceremony will be her first public appearance as Caitlyn. She stated the following in an interview with Hollywoodlife.com in this regard, “In the past few months, the overwhelming outpouring of support from all over the world for my journey has been incredible. However, being honored with this award, which is named after one of my heroes, is truly special. For the first time this July, I will be able to stand as my true self in front of my peers.”

A Remarkable Event

Caitlyn Jenner is going to be recognized for her bravery in the sporting world with the upcoming ESPYs; however, the best part of it is that all 10 of her children and stepchildren are going to be present on stage with her when she receives the award. Other notable celebrities who have embraced and welcomed her announcement with open arms include Kat Dennings, Anna Kendrick, Brad Goreski, Sam Smith and Ellen DeGeneres. DeGeneres stated, “My hope for the world is that we can all be as brave as Caitlyn Jenner.”

With to Caitlyn Jenner being strong and courageous enough to tell the world who she really is and how she feels about her gender transformation process, it is expected that more and more people out there will be willing to do the same as time goes on.
