Meet Dr. Mardirossian
in McLean, VA
Dr. Vartan Mardirossian is double board-certified in both Facial Plastic Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery and has authored many studies on pivotal topics within the realm of Facial Plastic Surgery. He is an Assistant Professor of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology at Florida Atlantic University and a consultant of Facial Plastic and Head and Neck Surgery at Jupiter Medical Center.
He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Padua in Italy, where he graduated Summa cum Laude in 2000. Dr. Mardirossian completed his Residency in Head and Neck Surgery in Padua, Italy and moved to Boston where he performed research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Later, he completed an internship in General Surgery, followed by a residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Boston University. Further advanced training was obtained with fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through Boston University with world-renowned facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Spiegel.

During the Boston marathon bombing, Dr. Mardirossian was part of the team of surgeons who took care of the victims. Thanks to his determination and prompt decision-making, he saved a young patient from a permanent facial disfigurement. Because of his contribution, he was awarded with a certificate of appreciation from Boston Medical Center and the City of Boston for his service during the tragedy.
He currently devotes his practice to facial plastic surgery, facial feminization (FFS) surgery, and skin cancer reconstruction. Dr. Mardirossian is expert in both the most simple office procedures and some of the most complex cranial reconstructions done today. Dr. Mardirossian has published many articles and book chapters on head and neck surgery and facial plastic surgery, and is an invited speaker locally and nationally on these topics. His research efforts were recognized with the Boston University research award in 2013. Previous work has resulted in several interviews for the Palm Beach Post and several TV and radio networks. Dr. Mardirossian specializes in a variety of men’s and women’s facial plastic surgery procedures.
In addition to research and writing, Dr. Mardirossian lectures in several courses at the Charles Schmidt Florida Atlantic University School of Medicine, and sees facial cosmetic surgery patients from all over the United States.
